IMPORTANT:Fuelleftinthe fueltank duringwarmweatherdeterio-
ratesandwill causeseriousstartingproblems.
Topreventgumdepositsfromforminginsidethe engine'scarburetor
andcausingpossiblemalfunctionoftheengine,the fuelsystemmust
beeithercompletelyemptied,orthe gasolinemustbe treatedwitha
stabilizertopreventdeterioration.
Ifusing afuel stabilizer:
a. Readtheproductmanufacturer'sinstructionsandrecom-
mendations.
b. Addto clean,freshgasolinethecorrectamountof stabilizer
forthecapacityof the fuel system.
c. Fillthe fuel tankwith treatedfueland runthe enginefor 2-3
minutestoget stabilizedfuelintothe carburetor.
Ifemptyingthefuel system:
a. Donotdrain fuel whenthe engineis hot. Allowthe engine
adequatetimetocool. Drainfuelinto an approvedcontainer
outdoors,awayfromopenflame.
b. Drainanylargevolumeof fuelfromthe tankby disconnect-
ingthe fuellinefromthe in-linefuelfilter neartheengine.

Gasolineisextremelyflammableandcanbe explosiveundercertain
conditions.Draingasolinebeforestoringtheequipmentforextended
periods.Drainfuelonly intoan approvedcontaineroutdoors,away
fromanopen flame.Allowengineto cool.Extinguishcigarettes,
cigars,pipes,andother sourcesofignitionpriorto drainingfuel.
Storegasolineinan approvedcontainerinsafe location.
c. Reconnectthefuelline and runtheengine untilit startsto
falter,thenusethe choketokeepthe enginerunninguntilall
fuelin thecarburetorhasbeen exhausted.
d. Disconnectthefuelline anddrainanyremaininggasoline
fromthe system.

Cleanandlubricatetractorthoroughlyasdescribedin the
lubricationinstructions.
Donotuse a pressurewasherorgardenhose to cleanyour
unit.
Storemowerina dry, cleanarea. Do not storenextto
corrosivematerials,suchasfertilizer.
Gasolineisa toxicsubstance.Disposeof gasolineproperly.Contact
yourlocalauthoritiesforapproveddisposalmethods.
Removethesparkplugand pourone(1)ounce ofengineoil through
thesparkplug holeintothe cylinder.Cranktheengineseveraltimesto
distributetheoil. Replacethesparkplug.
