lock up. When the Broadband Router locks up, it will not affect the computers attached to it. You may need to restart the client computers to regain Internet access.

Although sometimes inconvenient, a lock-up is an indication of an attack. Part of the design of the Broadband Router is to act as a decoy for such traffic. If your computer locked up instead you may have lost changes to open files, lost data, or corrupted your operating system or hard drive.

If you are currently experiencing frequent lock-ups, you may wish to upgrade the firmware.

LAN Connection Problems

I can’t access my Broadband Router.

Cause:

§The unit is not turned on.

§There is not a network connection.

§The computer you are using does not have a compatible IP Address. Resolution:

§Make sure your Broadband Router is turned on.

§Make sure that there is a physical connection between your computer and the Broadband Router and that the Link light is on.

§Use the WINIPCFG utility described in the appendix to make sure that your computer has a compatible IP Address. If your IP Address is not set correctly and you are using DHCP, use WINIPCFG to renew your IP Address. Otherwise, make correct changes to your Windows network settings.
