Replacing the Heat-Sink Assembly

CAUTION: Incorrect alignment of the heat sink can cause damage to the system board and processor.

Procedure

1Align the screw holes on the heat-sink assembly with the screw holes on the system board.

2In sequential order (indicated on the heat-sink), tighten the captive screws that secure the heat-sink assembly to the system board.

3Connect the fan cable to the system board.

Post-requisites

1Replace the system board.

2Replace the palm rest.

3Replace the hard drive.

4Replace the wireless card.

5Replace the memory module(s).

6Replace the base cover.

7Replace the keyboard.

8Replace the optical drive.

9Replace the battery.
