120 Adding and Replacing Parts
NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before
you begin working inside the computer.

Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 109.

Open the display.

Remove the hinge cover. See "Hinge Cover" on page118.

Remove the keyboard:
a
Remove the two screws at the top of the keyboard.
NOTICE: The keycaps on the keyboard are fragile, easily dislodged, and time-consuming to replace. Be careful
when removing and handling the keyboard.

Lift the keyboard only enough to hold it up and slightly forward to allow access to the keyboard
connector.
c
To release the keyboard cable from the keyboard connector on the system board, rotate the plastic
bar on the keyboard connector to the front of the computer.
