Removing The Power-Distribution And Power-Interposer Boards

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

1.Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals

2.Disconnect the power cable from the power source and the power supply you intend to remove, and remove the cables from the strap.

3.Open the system.

4.Disconnect all the power cables from the power supply to the system board, hard drives, and optical drive.

CAUTION: The power-distribution and the power-interposer board assembly must be removed from the system before separating them to avoid damaging the power-distribution board's bottom layout.

5.Remove the screws securing the power-distribution board to the chassis.

6.Keeping the release tab pressed, slide the power-interposer and power-distribution board assembly up and toward the cooling fan, and lift it out of the system.

7.Pull the power-distribution board out from the power-distribution board connector on the power-interposed board.
