Set the distance between the

 

 

center speaker and the listening

 

position.

 

The distance changes in units of 1

 

foot (0.1 meters) each time the

 

button is pressed. Select the value

 

closest to the measured distance.

Example: When the distance is set to 12 feet for the center speaker

If “Yes” is selected for “Default”, the settings are automatically reset to the default values.

Please note that the difference of distance for every speaker should be 15 ft (4.5 m) or less. If you set an invalid distance, a CAUTION notice, such as screen right will appear. In this case, please relocate the blinking speaker(s) so that its distance is no larger than the value shown in highlighted line.

The System Setup Menu reappears.

 

 

 

 

The AVR-4800 automatically sets the optimum surround delay time for the listening room.

NOTE:

• If the distance unit is changed after the delay time is set, the settings are reset to the factory default values (see page 18).

Setting the Power Amp Assignment

• Set this when the power amplifier for the front channels is switched for use with the surround back channel.

At the System Setup Menu select “Power Amp Assignment”.

Switch to the Power Amp Assignment screen.

Select the setting.

 

 

The selected speaker(s) flash.

 

Front/Center/Surround:

 

This is the normal setting.

 

Center/Surround/SurroundBack:

 

The power amplifier for the front channels is used for the surround

 

back channel.

 

When this is set, the surround back left and right signals are amplified

 

and output from the front left and right speaker terminals.

 

The front channel signals are only output from the pre-out terminals, so connect a separate power amplifier to

 

these terminals. (see page 14)

NOTE:

The “Power Amp Assignment” setting screen is displayed when the surround back speaker is set to “Large” or “Small” at “Speaker Configuration”.
