Checking the XM Signal Strength and Radio ID

1Either turn <SOURCE SELECT> or press [SAT TU] to select “XM”.

2Press STATUS until “SIGNAL” appears on the display.

The display will switch as shown below, depending on the reception conditions.

3Adjust the position of the antenna until “SIGNAL: GOOD” is shown on the display.

4Press STATUS until the station you want to check (example: “XM001”) is displayed.

5Press TUNING and select channel 0 (XM000). The radio ID is shown on the display.

The strength of both the XM satellite and terrestrial signals can be checked at menu “Input Setup” – “Antenna Aiming” (vpage 34).

The music on an iPod can be played by using the Control Dock for iPod (ASD-1R, sold separately).

The operation can also be performed using the buttons on the main unit or remote control unit while watching the menus.

Basic Operation

1Make the necessary preparations.

qSet the iPod in the DENON Control Dock for iPod.

(vSee the Control Dock for iPod’s operating instructions.) wAssign the Control Dock for iPod’s input.

2Either turn <SOURCE SELECT> or press [iPod] to select the input source assigned in step 1-wabove.

OK to disconnect.

bIf the screens above are not displayed, the iPod may not be properly connected. Try connecting again.

3Set [MODE SELECTOR 1] to “AUDIO” and [MODESELECTOR 2] to “iPod/NETWORK”.

• With the default settings, the iPod can be used connected to the VCR

• Use the RESTORER mode to expand the low and high frequency

components of compressed audio files and achieve a richer sound.

The default setting is “Mode3”.

Connections

• Press <ON/STANDBY> and set the AVR-788’s power to the standby

mode before disconnecting the iPod. Also switch the input source

to one to which the menu “iPod dock” is not assigned before

disconnecting the iPod.

• Depending on the type of iPod and the software version, some

functions may not operate.
