20 Chapter 2 Adjusting Screen
● To adjust the brightnes s [Brightness]
The screen brightness is adjusted by cha nging the brightness of the backlight (Light source f rom the LCD
back panel).
Adjustable range: 0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Choose <C olor> from the Adjustment menu, and press .
2. Choose <Br ightness> from the <Color> menu, and press .
3. Adjust the br ightness with or .
4. Pre ss to exit the adjustment.
NOTE
• You can also adjust the b rightness using and .
• W hen your feel the image is bright even if the br ightness is set to 0%, adjust the cont rast.
● To adjust the contrast [Contra st]
The luminance of the screen is adjust ed by varying the video signal level.
Adjustable range: 0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Choose <C olor> from the Adjustment menu, and press .
2. Choose <C ontrast> from the <Color> menu, and press .
3. Adjust the cont rast with or .
4. Pre ss to exit the adjustment.
NOTE
• In t he contrast of 100%, every color grad ation is displayed.
• W hen adjusting the monitor, it is recomme nded to perform the bright ness adjustment which may not lose the
gradation characte ristics, prior to the contra st adjustment.
• Perfor m the contrast adjustment i n the following cases.
- When you feel the image is bright even if the b rightness is set to 0%. (Set the contra st to lower than 100%).
● To adjust the color tempe rature [Temperature]
The color temperature can be adjuste d. The color temperature is normally used t o express the hue of
“White” and/or “Black” by a numerical value. The value is expre ssed in degrees “K” (Kelvin). In the
same way as the ame temperature, t he image on the monitor is displayed reddish if the color temperatu re
is low and is bluish if the color temperature is high. The g ain preset values are set for each color
temperature setti ng value.
Adjustable range: Standard, Native, 4000K-10000K (specied by every 500K unit, including 5400K ,
9300K)
Procedure
1. Choose <C olor> from the Adjustment menu, and press .
2. Choose < Temperature> from the <Color> menu, and press .
3. Adjust the color tempe rature with or .
4. Pre ss to exit the adjustment.
NOTE
• [Gain] allows you to per form more advanced adjustment (See “To adjust the gai n value” on page 22).
• If you set to [ Native], the image is displayed in the preset color of the monit or (Gain: 100% for each RGB).
• W hen changing the gain value, the color tem perature adjusting ra nge is changed to “User”.
• The d efault setting for each sRGB/EBU/REC709/SMPTE- C/DCI mode is set to "Standa rd", which is the
temperature in con formity with each stand ard.
