24 Chapter 2 Adjusting Screen
To enhance the outline of the image [Outline Enhancer]
OutlineEnhancer functions to e mphasize outline of the images by emphasizing the color differe nce
between pixels composing the images. This may improve the textu re of the material and its feel of the
images.
On the contrary, it also functions to reproduc e the images smoothly by gradating its outli ne.
Procedure
1. Choose <Color> from the Adjust ment menu, and press .
2. Choose <Advanced Sett ings> from the <Color> menu, and press .
3. Choose <Outli ne Enhancer> and press .
4. Select the display stat us in the range from -3 to 3 (soft to sharp) with or as desired.
5. Press to exit the adjustment.
To adjust the gain value [Gain]
Each luminance of red/green/blue composi ng the color is called “Gain”. The gain adjustment may change
the color tone of the “White” (when the max input signal for each color is obtained)
Adjustable range: 0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Choose <Color> from the Adjust ment menu, and press .
2. Choose <Advanced Sett ings> from the <Color> menu, and press .
3. Choose <Gain>, and press .
4. Choose the color for adjustment among <Red>, <Green>, or <Blue> to adjust, and pre ss .
5. Adjust the gain with or .
6. Press to exit the adjustment.
NOTE
• The <Temperatu re> setting invalidate s this setting.
• The gain valu e may change depending on the value of the color tempe rature.
• When chan ging the gain value, the color temperat ure adjusting range is cha nged to “User”.
To adjust the black level [Black Level]
The brightness of black and chromaticity can be adjusted b ased on the respective black level of red, green
and blue. Adjust the black level by showing images with black background.
Adjustable range:0 to 100%
Procedure
1. Choose <Color> from the Adjust ment menu, and press .
2. Choose <Advanced Sett ings> from the <Color> menu, and press .
3. Choose <Black Level>, and press .
4. Choose the color for adjustment among <Red>, <Green>, or <Blue> to adjust, and pre ss .
5. Adjust the black level with or .
6. Press to exit the adjustment.
Tips
• To further d arken the black when the value of the black level is 0, lower the bright ness value.
• Lowering t he contrast value will not change the br ightness of the black level.
