7-3. Making Use of USB (Universal Serial Bus)

This monitor has a USB hub. Connected to a PC compatible with USB, this monitor f unctions as a USB hub
allowing connection to peripheral USB devices.
System Requirement
• A P C equipped with a USB port.
• Wi ndows 2000/XP/Vista/7 or Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.2 or later
• USB cable
Attention
• This mon itor may not work depending on PC, OS or peripher al devices. For USB compatibility of peripheral de vices,
contact their manufactur es.
• Devices con nected to the USB upstream por t and USB downstream port work when the m onitor is in power saving
mode or when the power button of the monitor is Off. Ther efore, power consumption of the monitor varies w ith
connected devices even in the power savin g mode.
• When the m ain power of the monitor is Off, device conne cted to the USB downstream por t does not operate.
Procedure
1. Connect the sig nal cable between a PC and the monitor, and turn on the PC.
2. Using the USB cable, connect the computer’s downstrea m port and the monitor’s upstream port 1.
3. Connect the p eripheral USB device to the USB downstream port of the monitor.

• By default, USB upstream port 1 is enabled. To connect two PCs, see “3-8. Switching USB Port Automatically” (page 33).
