Chapter 1 IntroductionThank you very much for choosing an EIZO color LCD monitor.

- EcoView Sense function
The sensor on the front side of the monitor detect s the movement of a person. When a person moves away from t he
monitor, it shifts to the power saving mode automat ically and does not display the images on the s creen. Therefore,
the function reduces the power consu mption.

- EcoView Index function
The green indicator shows the power consu mption ratio responding to the br ightness of the monitor. You can
realize the power consumption reduct ion by taking consideration in t he ratio of power saving.

• This mon itor supports the Portrait /Landscape display. This fun ction allows you to change the orientation of
the Adjustment menu when using the monitor scre en in vertical display position (See “3-6. Se tting Orientation
<Orientation>” (page 24)).
• For using the monitor w ith “Portrait” position, the g raphics board supporti ng portrait display is requi red. When
placing the monitor in a “Portrait ” position, settings of your graphics b oard need to be changed. Refer to the manu al
of the graphics board for details.
• The stand of t he unit can be replaced with an ar m or another stand (See “6-1. How to Attach the Option al Arm” (page
34))..
