CORRECT BODY POSTURE DURING MEASUREMENT
To obtain as accurate a reading as possible, always remember to hold the sleeve at the same height as the heart. If the sleeve is higher or lower than the heart this causes deviations from your actual blood pressure.
Measuring blood pressure while sitting:
•Place your elbow on the table or other surface.
•The sleeve should be at the same height as your heart. If necessary, place a cushion or a book underneath your lower arm. Keep your arm and the rest of your body in a relaxed position.
•Any exertion on the body, such as drinking, eating, talking, making or receiving telephone calls, etc., leads to incorrect measurements and should therefore be avoided.
