4-8 Troubleshooting
Cannot contact the
SecureStack A2
through in-band
management.
IP address not assigned. Refer to the SecureStack A2
Configuration Guide for the IP address
assignment procedure.
Port is disabled. This is normal if the switch is a Member in
a stack.
If operating as a standalone switch or as
the Manager in a stack, enable the port.
Refer to the SecureStack A2
Configuration Guide for instructions to
enable/disable ports.
No link to switch. Verify that all network connections
between the network management station
and the device are valid and operating.
If the problem continues, contact
EnterasysNetworks fo r technical support.
Port(s) goes into
standby for no
apparent reason.
Loop condition detected. Verify that Spanning Tree is enabled.
Refer to the SecureStack A2
Configuration Guide for the instructions to
set the type of STA.
Review the network design and delete
unnecessary loops.
If the problem continues, contact
EnterasysNetworks fo r technical support.
User parameters (IP
address, switch and
module name, etc.)
were lost when the
SecureStack A2
power was cycled.
Clear NVRAM was set using
CLI commands.
Reenter the lost parameters as
necessary. Refer to the SecureStack A2
Configuration Guide for the instructions to
configure the SecureStack A2 using CLI
commands.
If the problem continues, contact
EnterasysNetworks fo r technical support.
User powered the switch off
before the configuration was
saved (configuration changes
on the A2 are internally saved
every two minutes).
Execute the “save config” command, and
wait for the prompt to come back before
Powering the switch off.
Executing the “reset” command
automatically saves the config before
resetting the switch.
