If you have an external hard disk, turn on the scanner, the external hard disk (which should be first in the daisy chain), and any other external SCSI devices you plan to use. Wait a few seconds; then turn on the computer.
SCSI devices in the middle of the daisy chain may be left off if you don’t plan to use them.
Installing Scanner Software
Now that you have connected the scanner to your computer, the next thing to do is install your scanner software. Follow the instructions in your EPSON Scanning Utilities User’s Guide. Then read Chapter 2, “Scanner Basics,” before you start scanning.
