To set the system idle timeout
1Go to System > Config > Options.
2For Idle Timeout, type a number in minutes.
3Select Apply.
To set the Auth timeout
1Go to System > Config > Options.
2For Auth Timeout, type a number in minutes.
3Select Apply.
To select a language for the web-based manager
1Go to System > Config > Options.
2From the Languages list, select a language for the web-based manager to use.
3Select Apply.
Idle Timeout Set the idle time out to control the amount of inactive time before the
administrator must log in again. The maximum admintimeout is 480
minutes (8 hours). To improve security keep the idle timeout at the default
value of 5 minutes.
Auth Timeout Set the firewall user authentication timeout to control how long an
authenticated connection can be idle before the user must authenticate
again. The maximum authtimeout is 480 minutes (8 hours). The
default Auth Timeout is 15 minutes.

Language Select a language for the web-based manager to use. Choose from
English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or French.
Detection Interval Set the dead gateway detection failover interval. Enter a number in
seconds to specify how often the FortiGate unit pings the target.
Fail-over Detection Set the ping server dead gateway detection failover number. Enter the
number of times that ping fails before the FortiGate unit assumes that the
gateway is no longer functioning.
