2Select Reboot.

3Select Apply.

The FortiGate unit restarts.

To shut down the system

You can restart the FortiGate unit after shutdown only by turning the power off and then on.

1Go to System > Maintenance > Shutdown.

2Select Shutdown.

3Select Apply.

The FortiGate unit shuts down and all traffic flow stops.

To reset the FortiGate unit to factory defaults

Use the following procedure to reset system settings to the values set at the factory. This procedure does not change the firmware version or the antivirus or attack definitions.

Caution: This procedure deletes all changes that you have made to the FortiGate configuration

!and reverts the system to its original configuration, including resetting interface addresses.

1Go to System > Maintenance > Shutdown.

2Select Reset to factory default.

3Select Apply.

The FortiGate unit restarts with the configuration that it had when it was first powered on.

4Reconnect to the web-based manager and review the system configuration to confirm that it has been reset to the default settings.
