4.5Draining and Disposing of Waste Oil

When your cooking oil has reached the end of its usable life, drain the oil into an appropriate container for transport to the disposal container. Frymaster recommends the use of the Frymaster Shortening Disposal Unit (SDU). NOTE: If using an SDU built before January 2004 the filter pan cover must be removed to allow the unit to be positioned beneath the drain. To remove the lid, lift up on the front edge and pull it straight out of the cabinet. Refer to the documentation furnished with your disposal unit for specific operating instructions. If a shortening disposal unit is not available, allow the oil to cool to 100°F (38°C), then drain the oil into a metal stockpot or similar metal container. When draining is finished, close the fryer drain valve securely.

Step 4 - Connect corner then pivot frame over free edges of screens. DANGER

Allow oil to cool to 100°F (38°C) before draining into an appropriate container for disposal.

When draining oil into a disposal unit, do not fill above the maximum fill line located on the container.
