For Your Safety
• Do not use batterie s that are leak-
ing, deformed, discolored.
• Do not store batteries in warm or
humid places.
• Keep the batteries out of reach o f
babies and small children.
• Make sure that the b attery polari ty
(C and D) is correct.
• Do not use new with used batter-
ies. Do not use charged and dis-
charged batteries together.
• Do not use different types or
brands o f batterie s at th e same
time.
• If you do n ot intend to us e the
camera for a long period of time,
remove the batteries from the
camera. Note if the camera is left
with th e batteri es removed, the
time and date settings are cleared.
• The batteri es feel w arm right af ter
being used. Before remo ving the
batteries, turn t he camera off and
wait for the batteries to cool down.
• Since batteries do not work well in
cold weather or locations, warm
the batteries by placing them in-
side your garments before use.
Batteries do not wor k w ell when
cold. They wil l work again when
the temperature returns to normal.
• Soil (such as finger prints) on the
battery te rminals makes the bat-
teries charge less redu cing the
number of image s. Caref ully wipe
the batter y terminals with a sof t
dry cloth before loading.
If any liquid at all leaks from
the batteries, wipe the battery
compartment thoroughly and
then load new batteries.
If any battery fluid comes into
contact with yo ur hands or
clothing, flush the are a t hor-
oughly with water. Note that
battery fluid can cause loss
of eyesight if i t gets into your
eyes. If this occurs, d o not rub
your eyes. Flush the fluid out
with clean water and contact
your physician for treatment.
Using the AA-size Ni-MH b atterie s
correctly
• Ni-MH batteries left unused in
storage for long p eriods can be-
come “deactiv ated”. Also, rep eat-
edly charging Ni-MH batteries
that are only part ially discharged
can cause them to suffer fro m the
“memory ef fect”. Ni-MH bat teries
that are “deactivated” or affe cted
by “memory” suffer from the p rob-
lem of only p roviding pow er for a
short time after b eing charged. To
prevent this problem, discharge
and recharge them sev eral times
using the camera’s “ Discharging
rechargeable batteries” function .
Deactivation a nd memory are spe -
cific to Ni-MH batteries and are not
in fact battery faults.
See Owner ’s Manual f or the pro ce-
dure for “Discharging rechargeable
batteries”.

CAUTION

Do not use t he “ Discharging re-
chargeable batteries function when
alkaline batteries being used.
• To charge Ni-MH bat teries, use the
quick battery cha rger (sold sepa-
rately). Refer to the instructions
supplied with the charger to make
sure that the charger is used cor-
rectly.
• Do not use the battery charger to
charge other batteries.
• Note that the batteries feel warm
after being charged.
• Due to the w ay the camera is con-
structed, a small amount of current
is used even wh en th e cam era is
turned off. Note in par ticular that
leaving Ni- MH batteries in the
camera for a long perio d will over-
discharge the batteries and may
render them unusable even af ter
recharging.
• Ni-MH bat teries will self-discharge
even when not used, and th e time
for which they can be used may be
shortened as a result.
• Ni-MH batteries will deteriorate
rapidly if over-discharged (e.g.
by discharging the b atteries in a
flashlight). Use the “Discharging re-
chargeable batteries” function pro-
vided in the camera to dis charge
the batteries.
• Ni-MH batteries hav e a limited
service lif e. If a batter y can only
be used for a short time e ven after
repeated discharge-charg e cycles ,
it may have reached th e end of its
service life.
Disposing of Batter ies
• When disposi ng of batteries, do
so in accordance with your local
waste disposal regulations.

AC Power Adapter
Always use the AC Power Adapter
with the cam era. T he use of an AC
Power adapter o ther tha n FUJIFILM

refer to the Owner’s Ma nual of your
camera.
• Use the AC power adapter for in -
door use only.
• Plug the conn ection cord plug se-
curely into the DC input terminal.
• Turn off the FUJIFILM Digital cam-
era before disconnect ing the co rd
from the DC input terminal. To dis-
connect, pull out the plug gently.
Do not pull on the cord.
• Do not use the AC power adapter
with any devi ce other than your
camera.
