Problem Solution
The camera does not
turn on.
The battery is ex hausted: Charge the bat tery or insert a fully-charged sp are battery (P 9).
The battery is in serted inco rrectly: Re insert in the correct orientation (P 10).
The battery-c hamber cover is no t latched: Latch the bat tery-chamber cover (P 10).
The battery runs down
quickly.
The battery is co ld: Warm the battery by pla cing it in a pocket or other warm place and reinsert it
in the camera immediately before taking a picture.
There is dirt on th e battery ter minals: Clean the terminals with a so ft, dry cloth.
ON is selected fo r T MONITOR SUNLIGHT M ODE: Select OFF to reduce the drain on the bat-
tery (P 4).
R is selected for shooting mod e: Select B mode to reduce the dra in on the battery (P

).
x TRACKING is selected for F AF MODE: Sele ct a different AF mode (P 51).
J is selected for f ocus mode: Sele ct a different focus mode (P 49).
The battery has b een charged ma ny times: The bat tery has reached the end of its charging life. Pur-
chase a new battery.
The camera turns off
suddenly. The battery is exhausted: Charge th e battery or insert a fully-ch arged spare battery (P 9).
Charging does not start. Reinsert the battery in the correct orientation and make sure that the ch arger is plugged in (P 9).
Charging is slow. Charge the battery at room temperature (P vi).
The charging lamp lights,
but the battery does not
charge.

The battery has b een charged ma ny times: The bat tery has reached the end of its charging life. Pur-
chase a new battery. If the batter y still fails to charge, contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
The battery is to o hot or too cold: Wait for the b attery temperature to stabilize (P 9).
