_Recordinq GPS Data with Pictures
To record GPSdata with new pictures, press MENU/0Kand select one of the fol-
lowing options for [] LOCATION SEARCH in the setup menu (_ 82).
•PERMANENTLYON:The camera continues to update GPS data even when
turned off. The camera will be quicker to display GPS data when turned on,
but the drain on the battery will increase.
•WHENSWlTCHEDON:The camera updates GPSdata only when on. The camera
may need some time to acquire GPS data when turned on. This option is
selected automatically at battery levels of _ and below.
GPS works best outdoors under clear skies.
During shooting, GPS data are displayed in the monitor as Im ]
shown at right. Signal strength is indicated bythe number
of bars; *;L is displayed when the camera is searching for a
signal and _:.jif no signal is detected. The current location
isshown by a place name or (if no place name is available) Loc_ion Si_rT_l
by the longitude and latitude, s_reng_h
The display of GPSinformation carl be turned off by selecting OFF for [] LOCA-
TION INFO (_ 82).
