Cleaning the server

Starting up and operation

To find out how to operate ServerStart and for further information, refer to the corresponding manual (see “Literature” on page 77).

If you are using ServerStart, you can skip the following section on how to configure the server and install the operating system. Continue from section “Cleaning the server” on page 52.

5.4.3Configuration without ServerStart

Configuring onboard SAS controller

Configure the controller as described in section “Configuring onboard SAS controller” on page 51.

Operating system installation

ÊInsert the CD/DVD for the operating system you want to install.

ÊReboot the server.

ÊFollow the instructions on screen and in the manual for the operating system.

5.5Cleaning the server

VCAUTION!

Switch the server off and disconnect the power plugs from the grounded shockproof sockets.

Do not clean any interior parts yourself; leave this job to a service technician.

Do not use any cleaning agents that contain abrasives or may corrode plastic.

Ensure that no liquid enters the system. Ensure that the ventilation areas of the server and the monitor are clear.

Clean the keyboard and the mouse with a disinfecting cloth.

Wipe the server and monitor casing with a dry cloth. If particularly dirty, use a cloth that has been moistened in a mild domestic detergent and then carefully wrung out.
