Problems with the S130

Troubleshooting

List of I/O channels:

IOP0 (channel processor CHP 0 and 1) channel range 00 to 7F

IOP1 (channel processor CHP 2 and 3) channel range 80 to FF

If the first I/O processor (IOP0) fails, system operation is no longer possible due to the lack of a console. If a logical console which works via the front-end processor and a functioning channel exists, the system can still be used.

ÊExecute IMPL and IPL after system crash with the defective I/O processor disabled by the SVP.

8.1.4Measures to take in the case of processing unit failure

!

If the CPU is defective, you must contact the service department.

A high-availability module (HVZ), S130K-1H, is available for the S130 as a chargeable option.

S130 without the high availability module

If a CPU is defective for any S130 model without the high availability module and the CPU has not caused a system crash, the CPU is automatically disabled. If not, you can disable it with the BS2000 command /DETË*CPU(xx).

xx= number of the CPU: 00 to 07

You can then continue processing with reduced system performance without the defective CPU until the service department carries out the repairs.

A defective CPU can only be made available to the system via IMPL or IPL after repairs have been performed.

S130 with the high availability module

If the high availability module is installed on your S130-C, S130-E or S130-P, you can replace the defective CPU with the high-availability CPU.

!

A high-availability CPU can not be activated during system operation.

Please request support from the service department if you want the high-availability CPU generated. They will then activate the high-availability CPU as described below.

ÊTerminate your system with /SHUTDOWN.
