5Make sure that the tabs on the sides of the RIMM and C-RIMM secure the memory module in the slot. When the module is secure, you will hear a click as both tabs lock.

6Close the case by following the procedure “To close the Gateway Mid-Tower case:” on page 19.

7Turn on the computer. Windows starts and the Windows desktop appears.

8In Windows XP, click Start, then select Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, then System. The amount of memory in your computer is shown at the bottom of the System Properties window in the General tab.

In Windows Me, Windows 2000, or Windows 98, right-click the My Computer icon, then select Properties. The amount of memory in your computer is shown at the bottom of the System Properties window in the General tab.
