8. Recheck the clearance
and readjust if necessary.
9. Rotate the crankshaft 270”
to align the ‘7” mark on the
fan with the ‘7” mark on
the left side of the fan
housing. This is tiring
position for number 2
cylinder.
10.
Check and adjust its
valves as you did number
1 cylinder.
11.
Be sure the rocker shafts
are in position. Remove
the bolts used to hold them
and install the valve covers.
MAINTENANCE &ADJUSTMENTS -
5. Measure the clearance between the rocker arm and the
valve with a feeler gauge.
INTAKE: 0.005 - 0.007 in (0.13 - 0.17 mm)
EXHAUST: 0.007 - 0.009 in (0.18 - 0.22 mm)
6. To adjust valve clearance,
hold the adjusting screw
and loosen the lock nut.
The adjusting screw has a
3 mm square head.
