Charging the battery The battery is rated at 14 Ah (ampere hours). 10% of the
ampere hour rating should be used as the charging current.
A battery charger should be used that can be adjusted to
deliver 1.4 amperes.
1. Remove the battery cell caps.
2. Connect the battery charger following the manufacturer’s
instructions, then charge the battery 3 - 4 hours.
3. After the battery is charged, inspect the electrolyte level in
each of the cells. Add distilled water as necessary, then
install the battery caps.
4. Clean the outside of the battery and the battery compartment
with a solution of baking soda and water. Don’t allow any of
the solution to drip down the vent caps into the battery cells.
Installing the battery 1.
Connect the positive terminal (+) first, then the negative
terminal (-).
2. Snap the cover onto the battery box.
