MAINTENANCE & ADJUSTMENTS
Governor Linkage
Perform this procedure only when the engine doesn’t reach
its maximum no-load speed and you are sure that the engine
is correctly tuned (good spark plug, clean air cleaner, etc.).

STOP
1. Remove the fan cover hood.
2. Loosen the adjusting bolt on the governor arm.
3. Move the throttle lever to FAST.
4. Tighten the governor arm adjusting bolt while pushing the
governor arm at the two places shown.
5. Move the throttle lever to SLOW.
6. Move the governor arm toward the carburetor and check that
the carburetor throttle plate opens and the throttle shaft arm
contacts the full throttle stop.
7. Move the governor arm away from the carburetor and check
that the carburetor throttle plate closes and the throttle shaft
arm contacts the idle stop screw.
8. Start the engine and allow it to warm to normal operating
temperature.
9. With the throttle in FAST, adjust the throttle limiting screw to
set the engine at its maximum governed speed.
MAXIMUM NO-LOAD SPEED: 3400 *I50 rpm
10. Check that the throttle lever is in the FAST detent when the
throttle arm contacts the stop screw. Adjust the cable
housing in the clamp if necessary.
