1.
Move the blade control OFF.
2. Remove the belt cover.
3. Loosen the idler bracket pivot bolt and remove the bracket
positioning bolt.
4. Move the idler bracket to the alternate hole and tighten the
bolts.
5. Check that the belt guides are in the positions shown, about
l/s - 3/l~ inch (3 - 5 mm) from the belt.
6. Check the position of the tensioner arm in the slot in the
power unit.
7. If the arm is still in the large slot, the belt must be replaced.
8. Move the blade control ON.
9. Measure the length of the tensioner spring.

Turn the wing nut.to set the spring length.
11.
Check the blade brake adjustment (see page 69).
12.
Install the belt cover.
