Field Name | Information |

Profile Name | Enter a name for your profile. |
|
|
SSID | This is the service set identifier (SSID) and the |
| default is “blank” when connecting to an |
| infrastructure network. This allows you to |
| connect to any available access point. |
| You and the wireless site you want to connect to |
| must use the same SSID. This identification |
| number uses a maximum of 32 characters and |
| is case sensitive. |
|
|
Power Management | The default selection is “No.” Selecting “Yes” |
| will provide lower performance and use less |
| power. |
|
|
Network | You have two choices: infrastructure or ad |
| hoc.The default selection is “Infrastructure.” |
| Use infrastructure to connect to a wired network |
| via a wireless access point. |
| Use ad hoc for |

|
Channel | The default is “Auto.” |
| You do not need to specify a channel if you are |
| using an infrastructure network. It will use the |
| same channel as the access point. |
| Otherwise, set the frequency that corresponds |
| to your country’s regulatory commission’s range |
| and the 802.11b standard. |

|
Transmission Rate | The default is “Auto.” |
| This is the wireless data transmission |
| speed. You can select speeds of 1, 2, 5.5, |
| or 11 Mbps. |
