3. Getting Ready

Install and charge the battery

New batteries are shipped partially charged. Before you start using your device, it is recommended that you install and charge the battery.

To install the battery

1. Make sure your device is turned off.

2.Slide the back cover upward

to remove it as shown in the following illustration.

3. Install the battery by inserting it with its exposed copper part aligned with the protruding copper conductor on the lower-left side of the battery compartment.

Insert the bottom side of the battery first, then gently push the battery into place.

4.Replace the back cover.
