The default value for each bit is underlined in the Bit Value column.

To configure the AS/400 to a 3684 retail controller, use the following table.

		AS/400 Parameter and

0	0	None	Enabled at initial microprogram load (IML). There is no
			equivalent parameter for the AS/400 system. Specify 0
	1	None	to indicate that the controller is enabled at IML, or 1 to
			indicate that the controller is not enabled at IML.
1	0	NRZI(*NO)	Specifies NRZI data encoding with leading pads (1) or
			non-NRZI without leading pads (0).
	1	NRZI(*YES)
2 and 3	00	SWITCHED (*YES) and	Bit 2: Specify 1 is using nonswitched communications,
		CNN(*SWTPP)	or 0 if using switched communications. If switched, the
			SENDID parameter must also be specified.
	01	Not valid
			Bit 3: Specify 1 if using a multipoint communications
	10	SWITCHED(*NO) and
		CNN(*NONSWTPP)	protocol, or 0 if not. 01 is not a valid combination for
			these bits.
	11	SWITCHED(*NO) and
		CNN(*MP)
4	0	SNBU(*NO)	Switched network backup.
	1	SNBU(*YES)
5	0	MODEMRATE(*FULL)	Data rate select speed.
	1	MODEMRATE(*HALF)
6	0	DUPLEX(*HALF)	Data carrier setting.
	1	DUPLEX(*FULL)
7	0	None	Answer tone generation. There is no equivalent
			parameter for the AS/400 system. Specify 0 to indicate
	1	None	that the controller generates the answer tone, or 1 to
			indicate that the answer tone is omitted.

Matching AS/400 parameters for 4680/4690 LINE parameter

You must coordinate parameters between the AS/400 and the 4680 or 4690 retail controller. The following table lists those parameters. The 4680 controller requires configuration of the SDLC/SNA LINE parameter.

AS/400 parameters are listed in alphabetical order; the commands on which the parameters are specified are included in the rightmost column of the table.
