SECTION 3 - OPERATION
3-1 Start-Up Procedures
1. Verify that the main input circuit break er, b attery breaker, and output circu it breaker(s), if
provided, are in the “OFF” or “d o wn” positions.
Refer to illustration 1-2 for the loc at i ons of the circuit breakers.
CAUTION CAUTION
It during the start- up procedures anything unusual occurs, immediately turn off
the Input cir cuit breaker, and contact O nLine Power at (800) 797 - 7 782 for techni cal
assistance. If there are any questions or additional inf orm ation Is required, please
contact On-Line Power at (8 00) 797-7782 for technical assi s tance.
2. Apply input power to the Fire Alarm B ac k -u p UPS1481 Series
Verify that the v olt a ge appearing on the input term inal block is 120/240 VAC and is
same as on nameplate. lithe vo ltage is not same as on nameplat e approximately, do
not proceed any further. Cont act On-Line Power at (800) 797-7 782 for technical
assistance.
Verify that ther e are no voltages appearing on t he output terminal block.
3. Turn on the main input circuit breaker, s up plying power to the unit.
4. After turning on the System, wait one ( 1) minute while the Fire Alarm Bac k -u p UPS1481
runs through its internal diagnos t ic ro utines.
• Hear the sound of contactor closing.
• See the fan(s) running.
See the LCD panel displaying correc t messa ges. See Appe ndix D for LC D displays.
Verify that the L CD display panel indicates all c orr ect parameters — see Appen dix D
for details.
Verify that the out put voltage is 120/240 per the n ameplate.
5. Close battery breaker in the UPS ca bin et [and in battery cabinet(s), if prov i ded.
