Optional Output Isolation Tr ans f o rmer — This transformer is provi ded when the input and output
voltages are different, or mult ipl e output voltages are required o r an is olation at output is
required. The power to the prim ary of this transformer is select ed e ither from UPS via output
static switch and from utility in put v ia by pass static switch. The two s t at ic s witc h es toggle on/off
as controlled by control board.
Battery Charger — The battery c har ger maintains the batteries at f ull c h arge. After a battery
discharge, the charger will auto matically recharge the batte ries u pon restoration of input powe r.
Battery Bank — The battery bank c o nsists of sealed, maintenanc e f re e batteries. The batteries
provide emergency power duri ng power outages. The battery b ank includes a breaker for
overcurrent protection and DC disconnect.
Input Contact or — The input contactor serves several functions. First, the input contactor
provides connections for the i np ut power to the UPS. Secondly, t he c o ntactor disconnects the
input line when an outage occurs so that there is no back feeding of p ower into the power line.
Thirdly, the contactor allows f or a utomatic UPS operation upo n a c o mplete discharge of the
batteries. No operator interv ention is required when power to the Lips is restored after a
complete battery discharge.
Control Electronics — The c o ntrol electronics, utilizing a micr o_processor, for monitoring
provides all required logic sign als within the UPS and interfac es with remote devices via the
interface ports such as the AS/ 400 interface.
