•Removethebroilerpan and anyother utensilsfromthe oven.Theseutensils cannot
withstandthe hightemperaturesof the cleaning process.

ovenfront. To cleanthese areas, use hot water and
detergent,nonabrasivecleansers or soap filled steel
woolpads. Rinsethoroughly,beingcarefulnottousean
excessiveamountofwaterthatwoulddampenthedoor gasket. Soilleftin theseareas
willbemore difflbultto removeafter the self-cleaningprocesssincethe high heat will
bakeon any soilthat is present. DO NOT USE COMMERCIALOVEN CLEANERS
TOCLEAN THESEAREAS.
• DO NOTA'I-FEMPTTOCLEAN, RUB,OR APPLYWATERTO GASKET ON OVEN
DOOR.Thegasket isessentialfor agooddoor seal.Rubbingorcleaningwilldamage
thegasket and may affectthe seal.
• Wipe up excessgrease andfood spiUoverswhich have not baked on the bottomof
theoven. Largeaccumulationsofsoilcancauseheavysmokeorfirein theovenduring
thecleaningprocess. For ease of cleaning,theheatingelementcan be liftedslightly.
• Althoughsmoke or fire in the oven is a normal occurrenceand there is no safety
problem,therewill be venting of excessivesmoke and odor.
• The ovenrackscan be cleaned inthe oven. However,the oven rackswilldiscolor,
loseshininess,and become difficultto slide in and out if left in the oven during the
cleaningprocess.REMOVERACKSFROMOVEN IFTHISDISCOLORATIONWILL
BEOBJECTIONABLE.Asasuggestion,donotleavethe racksintheoven duringthe
self-cleaningprocessiftheydo not needto becleaned sincetheywill discolorto a dull
silverafteronecleaning.Moderatelysoiledrackscanbe cleanedwitha soapyS.O.S.
