1. Place oven rack on the rack position suggested in the chart on page 27.
Distancefrom broiling element depends onfoods being prepared. Rack position
40 (offset rack in position #4) is usually recommendedunless otherwise stated.
2,TouchBroilPad.
IndicatorWord BROIL will flashand Displaywill show threedashes.
Note;Ifmore thanfive seconds elapsesbetween touchingBroil Pad and touching
a numberpad, the oven is pot set and Display will returnto previousDisplay.
3,Touch the appropriatenumber pad(s).
Thefirst number padtouchedwill enter "HI" in the Display.
Theoven hasa variablebroil featurewh{chmeans thata lower temperature canbe
selected.After "HI" appearsin theDisplay,touch the appropriatenumberpads for
thedesired temperature. Temperature canbe enteredin increments. Use"HI"
broilfor mostbroil operations. Usevariable broilfor delicate and long-termitems.
Fiveseconds after entering "HI" or a temperature,the broilelement will comeon
andthe IndicatorWords BROILand ON will remainin theDisplay. If thevariable
broilfeature was selected,the (ndicator Word ON will cycle with the element.
Example: If at 4 o'clock you setthe oven for broil ("HI"),the Display will show:
4:00 HI

4. Place food on broiler pan providedwith oven. Broil elementwill preheat in five
minutes. After broil element is red,place food in oven, _OvendoorMUST_g left
openat broil stop position.
5.TouchCancelOff Padto turn off oven when food is cooked,
l NOTE: Afan comeson duringthe BROIL cycle.Ifit does not,the ovenbroil element
will cycle onandoff. If the fan doesnot operate,contact your authorized
Jenn-AirServiceContractor for repair.
