Appendix B Port Descriptions and LED Status

MODULE PORT DESCRIPTIONS

The following table describes the ports on the 5000-M and 5000-M2 management modules.

Port	Description	Type	Speed/Protocol
Console	Enables a serial connection, to establish	RJ-45	9600 Bps/
	terminal sessions with the system. Used for		RS-232
	launching Command Line Interface (CLI)
	sessions.
Modem	Enables a serial modem connection for	RJ-45	9600 Bps/
	establishing dialup sessions.		RS-232
MGT	Enables a connection for establishing out-of-	RJ-45	10/100 Mbps/
	band management sessions from outside of the		Ethernet
	network.
HA1	Enables connection with another device in a	mini-GBIC	1 Gbps/
	redundancy cluster, where one device serves		Gigabit Ethernet
	as the master (primary) device, and the other
	serves as the backup (secondary) device.
HA2	Enables connection with another device in a	mini-GBIC	1 Gbps/
	redundancy cluster, where one device serves		Gigabit Ethernet
	as the master (primary) device, and the other
	serves as the backup (secondary) device.

The following table describes the ports on the 5000-8G Secure Port Module (SPM).
