Programing the Playing Order of the Tracks

Program Play

You can arrange the order in which the tracks play before
you start playing. You can program up to 32 tracks.
On the remote control ONLY:

Load a disc.

Press CD 3/8, then 7.
The source is changed to “CD.

Press PLAY MODE repeatedly so that “CD
PROGRAM” appears in the main display.
The PRGM (program) indicator lights up on the
display.
Each time you press the button, play mode changes
as follows:

Press the number buttons to select the tracks.
For how to use the number buttons, see “To go to
another track directly using the number buttons” in
the left column.

Press CD 3/8.
The tracks are played in the order you have programed.
Program play ends when all the programed tracks are
played once (when Repeat play is not activated).
To stop during play, press 7.
The last programed track number and total playing time
appear in the main display.
To exit from Program play mode, press PLAY MODE
once or twice so that the unit enters another playback mode
(Random play or Normal play mode) before or after play.

Basic CD Operations

While playing a disc, you can do the following operations.

To stop playback for a moment

Press CD 3/8.
The CD indicator and the elapsed playing time start
flashing on the display.
When the key-touch tone is activated (see page 11), the
unit keeps beeping while pausing.
To resume playback, press CD 3/8 again.

To locate a particular point in a track during play

Press and hold ¢ or 4.
¢: Fast-forwards the track.
4: Fast-reverses the track.

To go to another track

Press ¢ or 4 repeatedly.
¢: Skips to the beginning of the next or succeeding
tracks.
4: Goes back to the beginning of the current or
previous tracks.

To go to another track directly using the number

buttons

On the remote control ONLY:
Pressing the number button(s) allows you to start playing
the track number you want.
Ex.: For track number 5, press 5.
For track number 15, press +10, then 5.
For track number 20, press +10, then 10.
For track number 32, press +10, +10, +10, then 2.
To change the information shown in the main display
On the remote control ONLY:
Each time you press DISP/CHARA, the information in the
main display alternates between the source indication and
the clock indication.
If an MD is inserted, the MD remaining recording time
(“REC REMAIN”) is shown before the clock indication.
