Main Jackshaft Bearing replacement.

| ||
The Bearing Shims must be replaced exactly as |
|
| ||||
| removed, if the Jackshaft Bearings are removed. |
|
| |||

If the Jackshaft Bearings are replaced, the Jackshafts |
|
| ||||
alignment must be checked and |
|
| ||||
The shafts are aligned, fore and aft, with Shims behind the |
|
| ||||
bearings, and vertically with slotted holes in the bearing |
|
| ||||
flanges. |
|
| ||||
| • Assemble the Shafts, Sheaves and Bearings with |
|
| |||
| Lock Collars, and Shims in place as removed. |
|
| |||
| • Tighten the Bearing Bolts, and with a Straight |
|
| |||
| Edge across the front of the Shafts, check the ‘fore |
|
| |||
| and aft’ alignment. |
|
| |||
| Add or remove Shims as necessary. |
|
| |||
| • Place the Straight Edge on top of the Shafts. |
