Solution:Thisisanintrinsicchar acteristicoftheTFTtechnology.Y ourcomputerdisplaycontains
multiplethin-lmtransistors(TFTs).Asmallnumberofmissing,discolored,orbrightdotsonthescreen
mightexistallthetime.
Externalmonitorproblems
•Problem:Theexternalmonitorisblank.
Solution:Tobringuptheimage,pressF6andselectthedesiredmonitor.Iftheproblempersists,do
thefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanothercomputertomakesurethatitworks.
2.Reconnecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer.
3.Refertothemanualshippedwiththeexternalmonitortochecktheresolutionsandrefreshratesthat
aresupported.
–Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsthesameresolutionasthecomputerdisplayorahigherresolution,
viewoutputontheexternalmonitororonboththeexternalmonitorandthecomputerdisplay.
–Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsalowerresolutionthanthecomput erdisplay,viewoutputonthe
externalmonitoronly.(Ifyouviewoutputonboththecomputerdisplayandthee xternalmonitor,
theexternalmonitorscreenwillbeblankordistorted.)
•Problem:Youcannotsetahigherresolutionthanthepresentoneonyourexternalmonitor.
Solution:
–Makesurethatthemonitorinformationiscorrect.Dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheext ernalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
2.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
3.ClickAdvancedSettings.
4.ClicktheAdaptertab.
5.Mak esurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapterinformationwindow.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
6.ClickOK.
Iftheinformationisincorrect,reinstallthedevicedriver.
–Checkthemonitortypeand,ifnecessary,updatethedriverbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoan
electricaloutlet.
2.T urnontheexternalmonitorandthecomput er.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.

4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
