Hibernation
Byusingthismode,youcanturnoffyourcomputercompletelywithoutsavinglesorexitingfromany
programsthatarerunning.Whenthecomputerentershibernation,allopenprograms,folders,andles
aresavedtotheharddisk,andthenthecomputerturnsoff.
Toputthecomputerintohibernationmode,changeyourpowerplansettings.Toaccesspowerplan
settings,dothefollowing:

Wirelessoff
Whenyouarenotusingthewirelessfeatures,suchasBluetoothorwirelessLAN,turnthemoff.This
willhelpconservepower.T oturnoffthewirelessfeatures,pressF9.
Enablingthewakeupfunction
Ifyouputyourcomputerintohibernationmode,andthewakeupfunctionisdisabled(thisisthedefault
setting),thecomputerdoesnotconsumeanypower.Ifthewakeupfunctionisenabled,itconsumesa
smallamountofpower.
Toenablethefunction,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanelandclickSystemandSecurity.
2.ClickAdministrativeTools.
3.Double-clickTaskScheduler.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministr atorpasswordorconrmation,type
thepasswordorprovideconrmation.
4.F romtheleftpane,selectthetaskfolderforwhichyouwanttoenablethewakeupfunction.The
scheduledtasksaredisplayed.
5.Clickascheduledtask,andthenclicktheConditionstab.
6.UnderPower,selectthecheckboxforW akethecomputertorunthistask.
EnablingthebatteryalarmontheWindows7operatingsystem
FortheWindows7operatingsystem,youcanprogramyourcomputersothatwhenthebatterypowerfalls
belowacertainlevel,thr eeeventsoccur:thealarmgoesoff,amessageisdisplayed,andtheLCDis
turnedoff.
Toenablethebatteryalarm,dothefollowing:
1.S tartthePowerManagerprogram.
2.ClicktheGlobalPowerSettingstab.
3.F orLowbatteryalarmorCriticallylowbatteryalarm,setthepercentageofthepowerlevelandset
theaction.
Note:Ifyourcomputerenterssleeporhibernationmodewhenthebatteryislow,butthealarmmessage
hasnotyetbeendisplayed,themessagewillbedisplayedwhenthecomputerresumes.T oresumenormal
