Yourcomputerhasaspecialtypeofmemorythatmaintainsthedate,time,andsettingsforbuilt-infeatures,
suchasparallel-portassignments(conguration).Abatterykeepsthisinformationactivewhenyouturn
offthecomputer.
Thebatterynormallyrequiresnochargingormaintenancethroughoutitslife;however ,nobatterylasts
forever.Ifthebatteryfails,thedate,time,andcongurationinformation(includingpasswords)ar elost.An
errormessageisdisplayedwhenyouturnonthecomputer.
