Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethekeyboardormouse.
Toreplacethekeyboardormouse,dothefollowing:
1.Removeanymediafromthedrives.Then,turnoffallattacheddevicesandthecomputer.
2.Disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
3.Disconnecttheoldkeyboardcableormousecablefromthecomputer.
4.ConnectanewkeyboardormousetooneoftheUSBconnectorsonthecomputer.Dependingonwhere
youwanttoconnectthenewkeyboardormouse,see“Locatingconnectors,controls,andindicatorson
thefrontofyourcomputer”onpage7or“Locatingconnectorsontherearofyourcomputer”onpage8.

Completingthepartsreplacement
Aftercompletingtheinstallationorreplacementforallparts,youneedtoclosethecomputercoverand
reconnectcables.Dependingonthepartsyouinstalledorreplaced,youmightneedtoconrmtheupdated
informationintheSetupUtilityprogr am.RefertoChapter7“UsingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage75.
Toclosethecomputercoverandreconnectcablestoyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Mak esurethatallcomponentshavebeenreassembledcorrectlyandthatnotoolsorloosescrews
areleftinsideyourcomputer.See“Locatingcomponents”onpage10forthelocationsofvarious
componentsinyourcomputer .
2.Ifyouhaveremovedthefrontbezel,reinstallit.T oreinstallthefrontbezel,alignthethreetabson
thefrontbezelwiththecorrespondingholesinthechassisandpivotthefrontbe zelinwardsuntil
itsnapsintoposition.
3.Mak esurethatthecablesareroutedcorrectly.Keepcablesclearofthehingesandsidesofthe
computerchassistoavoidinterferencewithclosingthecomputercover.
4.L owertheopticaldrivebay.
5.Closethecomputercover.
6.Ifthereisanint egratedcablelockavailable,lockthecomputer.
7.Reconnecttheexternalcablesandpowercordstothecomputer.See“Locatingconnectorsontherear
