UsingtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceresidesinaprotected,hiddenareaofyourharddiskdrivethat
operatesindependentlyfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem.Thisenablesyoutoperformrecovery
operationsevenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoper atingsystem.Youcanperformthefollowingrecovery
operationsfromtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace:
Rescuelesfromyourharddiskdriveorfromabackup
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceenablesyoutolocatelesonyourharddiskdriveandtr ansfer
themtoanetworkdriveorotherrecordablemedia,suchasaUSBdeviceoradisc.Thissolutionis
availableevenifyoudidnotbackupyourlesorifchangesweremadetothelessinceyourlastbackup
operation.YoucanalsorescueindividuallesfromaRescueandRecoverybackuplocatedonyourlocal
harddiskdrive,aUSBdevice,oranetworkdrive.
RestoreyourharddiskdrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackup
IfyouhavebackedupyourharddiskdriveusingtheRescueandRecoveryprogram,youcanr estorethe
harddiskdrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackup,evenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoper ating
system.
Restoreyourharddiskdrivetothefactorydefaultsettings
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceenablesyoutorestorethecompletecontentsofyourharddiskdrive
tothefactorydefaultsettings.Ifyouhavemultiplepartitionsonyourharddiskdrive,youhavetheoption
torest orethefactorydefaultsettingstotheC:partitionandleavetheotherpartitionsintact.Becausethe
RescueandRecoveryworkspaceoperatesindependentlyfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem,youcan
restorethefactorydefaultsettingsevenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem.
Attention:IfyourestoretheharddiskdrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackuporrestoretheharddisk
drivetothefactorydefaultsettings,alllesontheprimaryharddiskdrivepartition(usuallydriveC:)willbe
deletedintherecoveryprocess.Ifpossible,makecopiesofimportantles.Ifyouareunabletostartthe
Windowsoperatingsystem,youcanusetherescuelesfeatureoftheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceto
copylesfromyourharddiskdrivetoothermedia.

1.Makesurethecomputeristurnedoff.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF11keywhenturningonthecomputer .Whenyouhearbeepsor
