Select the SPEAKER SETUP menu AUTOMATIC option, as shown in the menu illustration above.

microphone check is successful, the AUTO SPEAKER SETUP menu appears in the

on-screen display. Press

arrow button to highlight the automatic calibration option you want. Then press the

this option. Refer to the table on page 3-36for more information about automatic calibration options.

 

 

 

 

If a microphone check is unsuccessful, one of the error messages shown to the right appears in the on-screen display, indicat- ing that a successful microphone check is required before automatic calibration, and also the reason the previous check failed. If this occurs, go back to “Connecting the Microphones” on page 3-37and work your way back to this page.

The following AUTO SPEAKER SETUP messages are displayed before automatic calibration begins:

 

• The !CAUTION! HIGH AUDIO LEVELS message indicates that the RV-8 generates loud calibration noise signals during automatic calibration. If the sig-

 

nals become too loud, press the

arrow button to cancel automatic calibration. Press the

arrow button to open the next AUTO SPEAKER SETUP

menu.

 

 

 

 

 

The countdown display notifies you that automatic calibration will begin in 10 seconds. The primary reason for the 10 second delay is to give you time to leave the listening space before automatic calibration begins. If you choose to remain in the room, your movements could affect the calibration

results. If you leave the room, you can return in about 10 minutes (the calibration procedure should be completed). Press the arrow button to skip the countdown and begin automatic calibration. The RV-8 automatically activates automatic calibration when the countdown ends.
