Note: Duplex channels cannot usually be called and are automatically eliminated from the suggested call list. If the call is to a coast station, the channel is selected automatically.

4.The call details are shown. Press ENT to send the call.

The Tx symbol is displayed on the LCD while the call is being sent.

5.If the call is acknowledged (INDIV ACK) press PTT to talk. If there is no reply (UNABLE TO ACKNOWLEDGE) a message asks if you want to retry (SEND AGAIN?). Press ENT to retry the call.

You must have already stored the GROUP MMSI before making the call. See Section 5.2.2.

Group calls are always sent with ROUTINE priority.

1.Select DSC CALL then GROUP CALL.

The radio displays the names of your groups.

2.Select the group that you want to call (the GROUP MMSI must be set before making the call). Then set the channel and continue as explained in Section 6.4.

1.Select DSC CALL then ALL SHIPS.

2.Select the priority level.

3.The priority is set automatically to URGENCY. However, you can select one of the following call priorities:

•URGENCY - For use when a serious situation or problem arises that could lead to a distress situation.

•SAFETY - To send safety information to all other vessels in range.

•ROUTINE - To send a routine call to all other vessels in range

4.Then set the channel and continue as explained in Section 6-4.
