Overview
Magellan VantagePoint™ software allows you to view, edit and store color maps on a
personal computer, with zoom and pan functions for easy map browsing. Use “Planner” to
map a route for an upcoming hike or geocaching trip, then transfer the route to your
Triton® GPS. Use “Search” function to locate addresses, Points of Interests, coordinates
and other map objects to help plan a trip. Load detailed maps needed for your trip.
Customize your maps with routes, waypoints, markers, text labels, photos and audio
recordings of your journeys. Then view all map data with VantagePoint. Track Analysis
tool can playback the user’s experiences on the trip to share with others. The “Library”
function helps to organize and store all of your content including Maps, Journals (user
generated data), and Media. Then VantagePoint can synchronize data and transfer
routes, tracks, waypoints, and geocaches between your PC and GPS. Plan your next
vacation, day trip, backpacking hike, geocache hunt or other adventure, sitting at your
computer right in your home. Entering waypoints while traveling on a bumpy road or on
rough water can cause errors or be hazardous if it distracts you. Obstacles are easier to
find on the larger screen of your computer. These are the advantages of using Magellan
VantagePoint™ software with your GPS Receiver for planning a trip.
A VantagePoint pop-up screen will remind you of available new software updates for
VantagePoint or Triton when they are available online for you to download*.
