Movies on DVDs may contain scenes which are not suitable for children. DVDs sometimes come with rating information for the entire DVD or only for certain scenes.

Affected scenes are rated from 1 to 8. If a scene with such a rating is recognized during playback, the DVD Recorder compares the Parental control rating with that of the DVD scene. If the scene rating exceeds the Parental control rating, an alternative scene will be played back (if available).

Most DVDs apply the rating to an entire DVD. Therefore, if certain scenes exceed the rating you select, the entire disc will be blocked from viewing.
