Operation
When heating up food which cannot be stirred or turned during cooking, as with a plated meal, it is best to use a lower microwave power level.
This ensures the heat is distributed evenly. Heat for long enough to cook the food properly.
^Set the required duration using the time selector.
Any duration between 10 seconds and
90 minutes can be selected. Exception: If the maximum microwave power is selected, a maximum cooking duration of 15 minutes can be set. If you then continue to select full power, the power level may reduce to 600 W, and this is shown in the display (protection against overheating).
The duration required depends on:
–the initial temperature of the food. Food taken from the refrigerator will need longer to reheat or cook than food already at room temperature.
–the type and texture of the food. Fresh vegetables contain more water and cook more quickly than stored vegetables.
–the frequency of stirring or turning the food. Frequent stirring or turning heats the food more evenly, and it is therefore ready in a shorter time.
–the amount of food.
As a general rule, allow approx. time and a half for double the quantity and for a smaller quantity, possibly shorten the duration. However, always ensure that food is cooked thoroughly as the duration required will vary depending on the type of food.
–the shape and material of the container.
^Touch "Start" to start the programme. The interior lighting comes on.
A programme can only be started if the door is closed.
"door" message
The "door" message in the display is a reminder that the appliance should not be used without food inside it.
Operating the appliance without food can damage the appliance.
If the door has been closed for 20 minutes or longer when the "Start" sensor is touched, the word door will appear in the display to remind you to open the door and make sure there is food in the oven before you touch "Start". You cannot start a process until you do this.
