Cleaning the drain pump and non-return valve

If there is still some water in the wash cabinet at the end of a program, the water was not pumped out properly. The drain pump or the non-return valve might be clogged. However, they are easy to clean.

￿Disconnect the dishwasher from the electrical power supply. Always turn the appliance off before unplugging it.

￿Remove the triple filter system from the wash cabinet (see "Cleaning and care - Cleaning the filters").

￿Scoop the water out of the cabinet using a small container.

￿Press the catch for the non-return valve inwards ￿.

￿Pull the non-return valve out ￿ and rinse it thoroughly under running water.

￿Remove all foreign objects from the non-return valve.

The drain pump is located beneath the non-return valve (arrow).

￿Remove all foreign objects from the drain pump (glass splinters are particularly difficult to see). Turn the drain pump impeller by hand to check for objects. It is normal that the rotation of the impeller feels jerky.

￿Carefully replace the non-return valve.

￿Make sure the catch engages correctly!

Be careful not to damage any components when cleaning the drain pump and the non-return valve.
