Verify that them utebutt on on the DCT5100or t he
remotecontrol has not been pressed. Press mute on the
remotecontrol to restore sound.
If the DCT5100 audio outputis c onnectedto the TV,
verifythat t he Mute button onthe TV hasnot been
pressed.
If the DCT5100 audio outputis c onnectedto a home
theater receiv er, verify that th er eceiver is set to the
appropriateinput source and the mute button on the
receiverhas not been pressed.
Verifyt hat you havethe correct cables for the audio
ports.
Verify that theaudio cablesare firmly connected
betweenthe DCT5100 and the audio playback device
(TV,receiver, etc.).
There is no audio
fromthe center
and/or surround
speakersof ahome
theaterr eceiver
connectedto the
DCT5100
Not all Dolby Digitalpr ogramsfeature full 5.1 surround
sound.In some cases, the programs may only contain
left and right stereo audio.
Verifythat the SPDIF cable(coaxial or optical)is firmly
connectedto the DCT5100 and the home theater
receiver.
Verify that thehome theater receiver is set to a surround
soundaudio mode (Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II,
DolbyPro Logic).
Verify that ther eceiveris properlyconfigured to work
with all connec ted speakers.
