TROUBLESHOOTINGBefore calling your service provider, review this troubleshooting guide.
This information is to help you quickly solve a problem. If your problem
still exists, contact your service prov ider.
Problem PossibleSolution
The DCT5100 will
not poweron Verify that theAC powercord is connected to the
DCT5100and an AC outlet.
If the DCT5100 i s connected to a swi tched outlet on
anotherunit, verifythat that unit is powered on.
Press the powerbutton on the DCT5100 front panel
insteadof the remote control.The batteriesin the remote
controlmay bedepleted.
TheDCT5100 may have received a software update and
may not power on wh ile the new softw are is being
installed.Tr y again in a few minutes.
The remote control
does not work Verify that ther emote controlis in“Cable”mode.
Verify that thereare no obstructionsbetween the remote
control andthe DCT5100. Aim the remote control directly
at the DCT5100front panel, not the TV or VCR.
Theangl e betweenthe remote control and the DCT5100
may be tool arge. Standi n front of the DCT5100 andnot
toofar to either side.
Pressand r eleaseoperation keys one at a time, firmly
and deliberately.
Try changing channels usingthe buttons on the
DCT5100front panel.
Checkthe batt eriesin the remote control. Install new
batteries if need ed.
